Meet the Presenter:

Derek Schuster is a highly accomplished executive with over two decades of expertise in sales, marketing, client relations, and customer service. Recognized for his innovation in the sports industry, Derek was instrumental in the development and launch of the Premium Sales Department at the Philadelphia Phillies during their move from Veterans Stadium to Citizens Bank Park. He pioneered one of Major League Baseball's first loaded value ticket platforms and currently oversees all aspects of the Phillies’ ticket sales, premium experiences, retention, and customer service.

 

Under Derek's leadership, the Phillies have surpassed 3 million tickets sold in 10 seasons at Citizens Bank Park, ranking 2nd in Major League Baseball attendance for 2024. His initiatives in ticketing, revenue generation, and client engagement have earned Industry Best Practices recognition from MLB. The Phillies’ 257-game consecutive sell-out streak, along with being the league leader in attendance during the 2011 and 2012 seasons, is a testament to Derek’s expertise and strategic vision.

 

Prior to his work with the Phillies, Derek played key roles at the Pittsburgh Pirates during the team’s transition from Three Rivers Stadium to PNC Park. He also managed ticket sales for the Philadelphia Phantoms, the AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, while at Comcast-Spectacor.

 

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Derek is actively involved in the sports management programs at Robert Morris University and Widener University, where he has also served as an adjunct professor teaching Sports Marketing. Originally from Pottsville, PA, Derek now resides in Wilmington, DE, with his wife, Karen, their children, and their dog, Norman.
